Bio

My Story...
I first trained for my food and nutrition career at the prestigious New York Restaurant School (now The Arts Institute) located in Manhattan, N.Y., where I graduated with the highest honors and earned a certificate in Culinary Arts. This experience sparked my interest in the science of nutrition and the important relationship between food and health--prompting me to learn more. I received my undergraduate training at Montclair State University and went on to complete my clinical dietetic internship and graduate studies through New York University and The Bronx VA Medical Center where I earned my Master’s degree in clinical nutrition.

I am a proud member of both the American Dietetic Association and the Dietetic Practice Group: Nutrition in Complementary Care. I have been a registered dietitian since 2005 and I have competently counseled and educated people on nutrition, fitness & health for over 10 years. I specialize in autoimmune diseases, in particular, multiple sclerosis. I developed a personal interest in multiple sclerosis after my husband was diagnosed with the disease in 2004 and since that time, I have become an expert in the dietary protocol, integrative approaches and lifestyle changes that are important for those affected by this chronic and unpredictable disease.

My Approach...
My commitment to helping others achieve optimal wellness is the primary focus of my practice. As a holistic healthcare practitioner, I believe that one’s personal beliefs, genetics, spirituality, medical condition, attitude, emotional health, environment and lifestyle all play a major role in health and well-being. So, I closely examine these points with all of my clients in order to make a more meaningful diagnosis. Since there are so many factors that influence one’s health, my philosophy has always been to provide my clients with personalized nutrition solutions based on their unique needs.

The public has been fed a great deal of misinformation about the relative virtues of various fad diets as well as dietary supplements touting claims from anti- aging, increased sex drive, improved athletic performance, weight loss, and everything in between including multiple sclerosis. Unfortunately, such claims are often unproven and are usually made to sell a product or service.
